The sire of Zapatero is Chin Chin, who competed at the Barcelona and Seoul Olympic Games as well as the World Championship in Stockholm and World Cup Finals. Grandsire Ircolando is father of international jumpers like: Ness Go, Carnivale and Orlando. The stallions Notaris and Joost have produced lots of Grand Prix horses like: Kanselier, Eldorado, Carrera and VIP, but also in the dam line of Zapatero we find stallions with lots of international sport horses. Zapatero’s sire line consists of proven sires in Sport and Breeding and by using Zapatero it will be sure that these sires genes will be saved for the future breeding.
Zapatero’s mother is the ‘Elite, Sport’ mare Manieta. She competed under the name Brugman’s Princes at International level and won the National Championship for 4 year old jumpers. Grandmother Anita received the ‘Prestatie’ predicate through her daughter Brugman’s Princess, her son Orlando competed at International level and Anita produced several Z and ZZ jumpers.
Zapatero was Reserve Champion at the Stallion approvals in 2007 and did a good stallion 70 day test. Now he is showing his qualities with Dennis van Tilburg. In the stallion competition he made all competitions a clear round and he placed 3rd in Hengelo, 5th in Assen and 5th in Roosendaal. As a 4 year old he was Reserve-Champion of the stallion competition, he won a class for 4 year old horses in Dwingeloo and placed 6th in the final of the 4 years old jumpers in Geesteren.
Zapatero received a very good foal report; his foals have a pretty type and a great canter! In the top 10 of the provincial Foal show of Friesland we saw 3 of his offspring: Eopera placed 3rd, Edelweis placed 5th and Elleminka placed 9th. All three foals were selected for the National Foal Championship and 2 made it to the final: Eopera placed 5th and Elleminka placed 10th.
Expected Breeding value: 154.
Zapatero: Fresh bloodlines for type and sport.
